About Codex Anthropologia

The Anthropology Codex was created as a way to share everything related to all four disciplines of anthropology. The site was created by Michael Brockbank, an author and student of anthropology, as he works toward various degrees in both Creative Writing and Anthropology.

The plan is to build a comprehensive and easy-to-understand platform for actual and factual anthropology.

Why Build the Codex?

Initially, Michael Brockbank created the Anthropology Codex as a way to help him remember and share all that he has learned while attending college. It is his hope that perhaps he can also help others find their way through anthropology while developing critical thinking skills.

This site and all of its content focus on real science, information, and personal experiences by Michael. Any claims will include cited credible sources and/or direct data collected by him.

The Codex is also void of AI-generated content. All of the text written on this website is from real humans, mostly Michael Brockbank himself. We don’t believe in using generative AI to take away from the human experience.

If you want to share your AI slop, do it somewhere else. This is a purely science-based website, and we don’t share AI assumptions or hallucinations.

Why Codex Anthropologia?

Roughly, a new blog is created every half a second. Even if most of those are using free webhosting options, that still leaves thousands of sites per day that eat up all of the available domain names.

And that’s not including people who buy domain names with the sole purpose of reselling them.

As I focus on archaeological anthropology, I wanted something that sounded “ancient,” hence the codex. At that point, I figured, let’s turn it into a Latin title, Codex Anthropologia. Roughly translated, it means Anthropology Codex.

This is my online “book” of knowledge regarding anthropology.
